Product Review: Aidells Teriyaki & Pineapple Chicken Meatballs

Larry and I are wandering up to Jungle Jim's in Fairfield more and more often. On a recent trip - we came across these Aidells Chicken Meatballs in the Teriyaki & Pineapple flavor.

Meatballs are something Larry NEVER gets to eat because 99% of them have eggs in them. These were egg-free and he really likes teriyaki & pineapple - so I had to give them a try.

I'm not very fancy with my cooking unless I have a recipe (and barely then either) - so I just put sprayed a pan with cooking spray and plopped them in to heat them up. As with most things like this - they're fully cooked - you just need to reheat however you want. I liked this method as the sauce thickened up a bit and the meatballs were able to be browned.

Then I grabbed my Microwave Rice Cooker - which is so easy it's ridiculous - and went to town. The directions tell you how much rice/water depending on how many people and what kind of rice you're eating. Microwave for a few minutes - rest for a few minutes and you're done. Rice isn't hard to make in a pan - this just takes the guess work out of it and I like that when I'm beat after a long day at work - plus Larry LOVES white rice - he could just eat that for dinner. (Just realized I need to show him the directions - he can make his own dinner!!!!)

So we plopped the meatballs on top of some white rice and dinner was served. Larry loved it - this is the perfect meal for him - no vegetables anywhere in sight! He asked me about 3x if I was sure he could eat the meatballs - he's very thorough when it comes to his allergy.

I really liked these - they were tender and juicy and the sauce was great. It's fantastic for a quick dinner that you can get from fridge to table in 15 minutes. I would definitely purchase these again! If you want to get fancier than I did - they have a whole recipe area of their site as well.

Disclosure: The rice cooker was provided to me but the opinions are my own.
