Christmas Gift Week - Day 1: Murray's Cheese

Christmas is just a couple of weeks away and if any of you are like me - you still have shopping to do. So this week is all about foodie gift ideas for your friends & family! 

First up for the week - Murray's Cheese. Murray's Cheese has been around since 1940 and they have a serious passion for cheese - so much so - they wrote a guide to the 300 best cheeses!  

They sent me their American Splendor gift pack ($40) - it comes in a rustic burlap bag and comes with crumbly Cabot cheddar, creamy Cremont Vermont Butter & Cheese, sweet Side Hill Apple Butter and hearty Urban Oven olive oil crackers.

This cheese was very rich and did nearly taste like butter - it was a really nice pair with the thick, sweet apple butter.

The Cabot cheddar was also something I'd never had before - it was a lot more sharp than the cheddar you buy at Kroger.

All in all - this one is not for your basic cheesehead (like my husband - he likes American & Swiss - and not much else) - but if you are a little adventurous - it's great! I really enjoyed the apple butter - which I've never had before - it's not really much like butter - but it's damn good!

Murray's has a variety of gift packs as well as monthly clubs (cheese, pair and meat). If you have a cheese lover on your list - then check them off the list with Murray's.
