It seems like every new restaurant is in the Fast Casual (aka Chipotle) category - there's a big menu board - walk up Soup-Nazi-like counter - you order, you pay, you get food, you eat. And - here's another new one! The latest addition is
Cucinova and is right near Kenwood Mall - it's towards the Panera/Chuy's/etc off the exit.
Cucinova is in a strip mall - if you're heading North on I-71 - take exit 12, make a right and you're pretty much there. It's next to Fusian Sushi. We were invited to attend their soft open last week and treated to everything they had to offer.
You can get pizza, pasta or salad for $6.99 - whatever toppings you want. They have a few pre-set combos or you can just make whatever you want. Here's my friend Jennie from

The pizza is similar to
Blaze Pizza up in Mason - with pizza ovens on site that just take a few minutes. Here you can choose from red, parmesan, garlic or pesto sauce and then the toppings are pretty much everything you can think of (4 cheeses, 4 meats, 13 veggies).
Then you saddle up to the pasta bar - same situation - you choose between spaghettini or whole grain penne - then add your sauce (pomodoro, arrabbiatta, parmesan) and then meat/veggies. For meat, they have chicken, shredded pork and meatballs (yum!). Then the big veggie bar is next - unlimited!
I went for whole grain penne with pomodoro, grilled mushrooms, black olives and meatballs as well as a small salad with a bunch of veggies and ranch. A couple of extras I really liked - I didn't because they were swamped - but you can have them toss the salad for you - which is nice - then it's all mixed up with the dressing. Also - they have San Pellegrino - yum - I love that fizzy lemonade.

A bunch of bloggers were there as well checking it out - my friend Erin got the pizza - so did Larry but somehow I forgot to take a picture. :-) I got to try a piece while we were in line - again - good stuff!
Why Should You Go? I think this is one of the best additions to the fast casual scene - it's got a lot of variety (which many of those lack) and I think the pizza is just as good as Blaze. I also think the pasta was better than Piada (another fast casual that opened not too long ago). Cucinova has a couple of other locations in Columbus and I think by the opening I went to - they'll be opening more soon here in Cinci! It was really great (and not just because it was free) - $6.99 is a great price for the quality and freshness that they bring to the table.
