This weekend I'll be eating my face off in Hocking Hills checking out their 4th Annual Comfort Food Cruise! The folks at Explore Hocking Hills invited me to come down for the weekend and check it out.

But back to the Comfort Food Cruise - it's a neat idea - since most people think of going to Hocking Hills in the summer when they can go on hikes. Well you can do shorter winter hikes and see some amazing sites of the caves in the winter and still check out all the great restaurants in the area!
The Comfort Food Cruise is $18/ticket ($5 goes to the local food banks!) and you get an "Appalachian" sample from each of the qualifying restaurants. You can get Biscuits & Gravy from Pearls, Turkey Pot Pie at Lake Hope Lodge, Mac & Cheese from Millstone Barbeque and so much more! There are 12 restaurants participating in total.
My recommendation is head to Hocking Hills for the weekend and then spend two days and nights eating your way through the area. If you hike along the way - it's calorie free - right? And if you're looking for a great place to stay - check out Cedar Grove Lodging - that's whose cabin my behind is parked at right now!
The Comfort Food Cruise is happening for the next three weekends (January 14 & 15, 21 & 22, 28 & 29) so you've got plenty of time to plan and do it!
