Food Hussy Giveaway: Gold Star Chili's new True Cincinnati Vegetarian Chili

Recently I was invited to try the new Gold Star Chili Vegetarian Chili with some of my best blogging friends and now I want to share it with you! Here's a recap of our blogger night at their newest location near Xavier!

We didn't have any fun at all. :-) 

Here's the thing though - if you haven't been to this location (on Montgomery Rd by Xavier - across from the bowling alley) - it is SWANKY! They also have an expanded menu that includes burgers and these amazing garlic parmesan fries! Every one of us got them and every one of us LOVED them.

Dave from corporate was there to show me the right way to make a 3-way - he was a great teacher...

and I killed it of course - I mean - how can you not with all that cheese????

Okay - first of all - that face! My blogging friend Krissy brought her little guy and he is just the cutest thing ever. Nate here took advantage of the expanded menu and ordered one of their burgers! Yes - this Gold Star Chili also has burgers! Originally the owners first restaurant was Hamburger Heaven - so they're going back to their roots and having these special burger offerings at specific locations. (Think about it - Chili Cheese Burger with Gold Star Chili - yes please!) 

So a little more about the Vegetarian Chili! There have been other vegetarian versions but this is the first that actually tastes like the original. Also - I'm not big on fake meats but they're using a vegetable protein (that I reviewed a few years ago) and grits to match the texture and taste and they got it spot on.  The chili is also soy free, gluten free and vegan - so it's a great option for folks in that realm. I have tried it on a couple of occasions and absolutely love it (and cannot tell the difference!).
